Knowledge and Experience:

  • CIPD qualification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of current thinking in Human Resources, issues, trends, and evidence of Continuing Professional Development
  • Demonstratable experience working in Human Resources with significant experience working within a regulated environment, insurance experience desirable
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human resource disciplines including compensation, benefits, employee relations, performance, recruitment, payroll, and learning & development required
  • Demonstrated experience of operating in a business partner model, working with C suite managers to front line managers to create positive business outcomes
  • Understanding of HR Best Practice with up-to-date knowledge of UK and international employment legislation
  • Communicates, challenges, and influences a variety of stakeholders effectively both written and verbally
  • Can maintain personal effectiveness by managing own emotions in the face of pressure, setbacks or when dealing with provocative situations
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changes in workload, systems and processes with resilience and a positive attitude
  • Experience of working with HR / People Management Systems
  • A good working understanding of office applications, most notably Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues professionally and confidentially
  • Demonstrated experience of working with managers to plan and deliver organisational change.

Day to Day duties include:

  • Employee Relations: Provide advice and guidance for all complex employee relation matters including maternity, employment contracts, grievances, performance management issues, disciplinary and absence management
  • Recruitment: Partner with the business manager to provide an efficient recruitment service
  • Compensation and Benefits: Ensure that a Compensation and Benefits administration and support service is provided for the Company
  • Learning and Development: Work with the business to ensure the company has a comprehensive Training and Development strategy in place, support management with the development of employee training plans, and highlight training needs
  • Performance Review Process: Work with the business to ensure Performance reviews are being delivered fairly across the business and completed within the specified timeframes
  • HR Projects: Provide effective, confidential support on a range of HR Projects which support the delivery of the HR Strategy
  • HR Operations: Contribute to the day-to-day operational function of the HR Department
  • HR Administration: Oversee and ensure a full administration and support service within the HR function. Adopts a team-based accountability to ensure all team responsibilities are maintained.
